Meet the creator of Therabubble™

Kathryn Potter is the co-designer and creator of Therabubble™ and the Managing Director and founder of Physiotherapy Innovations. Kathryn is a proud Kamilaroi woman and an Advanced Physiotherapist who uses her business platform to undertake philanthropic activities that benefit the wider community.

Kathryn is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) in the Respiratory and Women's, Men's and Pelvic Health special groups. Kathryn sits on the National Australian Physiotherapy Association Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Committee and is also a member of Indigenous Allied Health Australia and Women's Health Training Associates.

Kathryn is one of only 25 elite Australian members for the Australian and New Zealand Leadership Forum, Indigenous Women in Business. She has been awarded for her contribution to Indigenous Health by the APA Queensland branch in 2018.

Transforming bubble PEP therapy

Therabubble™ was first envisioned by Kathryn when she was a physiotherapy student.

Working in the hospital system, Kathryn saw that expensive PEP devices were not a viable option for all members of the community. After treating a patient with a makeshift bubble PEP device made from a recycled milk carton, Kathryn was driven to create a more professional and safe product that respected patients.

Over the next five years, Kathryn researched, tested and refined her design, and started the patenting process.

Through the establishment of Therabubble™, we’ve now been able to help over 50,000 people with respiratory conditions to breathe better.
